Message Use a very, very strong metal tab(one that has a 90^ bend) which also has a hole one on side for the seat belt receptacle to bolt to. Have it welded professionally with the flat part of the tab laying on the top of the flat mounting bracket, and the 90^ bend part with the hole facing downwards. Then you can mount the seat belt receptacle with a grade 8 bolt and nut in that hole. If you have the 90^ metal tab welded with the hole side facing up, the seat belt receptacle will mount way too high and be unsafe. This would be a one shot deal, especially with welding, so be sure to have them welded in the correct spot. Welding would also destroy the flat Corbeau mount, so i would highly recommend you not go this route.

It would be much better to mount the same super strong tab in the same position by drilling through the flat Corbeau mount and tab and bolting it together, to avoid any welding. I think it may be somewhat difficult to source a 90^ tab that is strong enough(I have no idea where to go for this part, I've tried before). Try a construction store or Fastenal shop. Do no use the generic 90^ metal tabs from the auto parts stores; they will shear very easily in an accident.

I'm glad you aren't going my route, not that it's unsafe, but it's just not very kosher. Plus, bending the seat belt receptacle just sounds bad. Sparco and Recaro, I think, both offer mounts for their seats with a built in slot for the stock seat belt. But, their seats and mounts cost 3x or more than what Corbeaus go for. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide to do. Did you contact Charles Park from Powertrix yet?
